Parents of TESA,

As many of you know the cold/flu season is upon us.  As a result, you or people around you may become ill.  If so, you need to recognize the symptoms and know what to do.  The symptoms include:  Fever, cough, sore throat, runny-stuffy nose, body aches, chills, fatigue and vomiting/diarrhea.  Most importantly, consult your Physician if you exhibit any of these symptoms.

The CDC recommends that “People with flu-like illness remain at home until at least 24 hours after they are free of fever (100 degrees Fahrenheit) or signs of a fever without the use of fever-reducing medication(i.e. Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen.)”

Let’s be proactive in reducing the spread of infection!  To reduce the spread of the virus, continue to practice good respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene.  In other words, cover your cough and wash your hands or use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.

Thanks,

Anthony Turner                                                                                Selina Leewright RN
